Their Signs are Real Low but They Ain’t Dead!
So how does one quickly turn their HTML application into a MySpace application without rewriting a ton of code? Enter Microsoft Silverlight and the RadHtmlPlaceHolder control from Telerik. MySpace supports Silverlight applications, just like Flash. And with an install base somewhere around 70% now, I decided Silverlight is absolutely a viable option for my app.
Porting to MySpace using Silverlight :: MassiveScale
I went through so many reactions when I read this in Google Reader last night, first reaction was to laugh. Laugh because someone is still trying to develop for Myspace, a
platform
that is deadMyspace, a platform that is dead. Then I wanted to laugh because someone is actually trying to develop something using Silverlight.
I don’t know about you, but Silverlight is dead too. Silverlight is a technology that first was a Flash killer, then it morphed into a mobile platform? But regardless, there are seriously people out there trying to use Silverlight to develop ANYTHING?? Why?? First, I would develop in Flash but if you are an Apple Fanboy, ok…..then develop on a platform that has a future? HTML5W, anyone??
Then I felt sorry because I couldn’t wait to write this post mocking a person that is seriously trying to learn, develop, make money, etc. He also might really, really like the Microsoft Technology stack.
So, Marc LaFleur, sorry dude. Nothing personal.
Frankly, what do I know? I write a crappy blog.
p.s. My advice for Marc LaFleur? Figure out Kinect and develop for it.

Glad to see overblown rhetoric and personal insults aren’t as dead as you claim the Microsoft stack is. Keep up the good work.
