I love the fact that LISP seems to be making a comeback. I know that some would say that LISP never went away but to see more and more blogs talking about the benefits of LISP vs. other languages makes my heart sing.

LISP is the first language that I truly “programmed” in and although it was an out-of-date version of an old Common LISP interpreter, it will always be my number one favorite language.

It’s gotten to the point where I’ve started investigating the mod_lisp extension to Apache to see if I can start using it for daily web development. Of course, trying to find a hosting environment with mod_lisp running is going to be fun…

Like loads of programmers, I have read most of Paul Graham’s essays, and I always finish them with that feeling that if I’m not using Lisp then I must be an idiot. Like most programmers, I certainly don’t want to be an idiot, so I went ahead and learned Lisp, Common Lisp.
Sergio’s devlog: Lisp after Python after Lisp.

In addition, I keep thinking that I should learn Python after reading articles like this one too.

Regardless, if you have any experience with easy ways to learn Python or use mod_lisp and have some pointers on how to set that up, please comment on my DOFOLLOW comments section (that means you Steve…).
