Microsoft Hires Apple as Development Consultant
Aside from Nokia and every other freaking cell phone company out there smelling the cash, I’m going to concentrate on Micrsoft’s following again.
First the GUI…now this…Apple has long been described as Microsoft’s R&D department. I think it’s hysterical.
Did you watch Family Guy last night (it’s at the bottom) and catch the total slam on the Zune vs. iPod? I mean at this point why does Microsoft think they can enter every market that anybody is in? Is it hubris? Mountains of cash that just beg to try anything else? I don’t get it. They make Windows and Office and they have some server products that are good. So why Xbox? Zune? MSN? Search? Microsoft Retail stores? They SUCK at those things.
Now they are going to suck at an appStore. I mean I could see it if they were agile, like a startup, and could make an appStore for like $20 bucks and the just raked in the cash as number 2 or 3 but they will sink $20,000,000,000 into it for a 3 year loss until the group is closed.
Handset giant Nokia and Microsoft have announced their own versions of the online markets for mobile device application software, or apps.
From May, Nokia’s Ovi Store will offer apps as well as multimedia content specific to a user’s location.
Microsoft’s new “Windows Phones” will feature Windows Marketplace, launching in the last quarter of 2009.
p.s. The whole Christian Bale thing was hysterical too…
