iPhone Revolutionizes Mobile Industry…Again
Seems as if Dan Grigsby on Mobile Orchard is my source of iPhone news these days…
(I have no idea why this chick came up on a search for iPhone images but I’m going with it…)
Anyway, seems like a throw away line here as Dan is talking about the Undo and Redo API for the new iPhone OS 3.0 but there is more to it then that. I didn’t watch the entire video on Apple.com either but I did check out what Dan pointed to around 1:06:45. The shake to undo and redo.
I don’t know of any other mobile device that does this but just like the entire touch interface exploded upon the iPhones introduction, the shake to undo and redo is going to revolutionize the mobile device industry. That’s right, you heard it here, The Minority Report, first.
Within a year of the official introduction and mass adoption of the new iPhone OS 3.0, most mobile phone manufacturers will have this capability built into their mobile phone OS platform. Certainly Android will have it and Windows Mobile if not Nokia and Blackberry.
Time and time again, Apple sets the bar higher and everyone just follows along.
The copy-and-paste demo in Apple’s public iPhone 3.0 preview event demonstrated “shake to undo” and “shake to redo” capabilities at around the hour-and-six-minute mark in the presentation video.
