Hymie Town Rag Calls Obama Monkey
I’m not posting the NYPost’s editorial staff email or phone number here…and personally I usually find poor taste and racially based jokes funny. Not because I’m a racist, but because I hate
everyone equallyI hate everyone equally. Regardless of my assholishness, this cartoon just isn’t that funny.
Now on the flipside, I think that the editorial cartoonist might have been going for the ol’ dance monkey, dance idea and NOT a racial slur calling President Obama a monkey.
In today’s new world with the first black President, can this be chalked up to a cartoonist just trying for a monkey joke or should this artist be shot for a racial mistake? Aren’t we supposed to be past the racial stuff? So that means on the otherside that people shouldn’t be offended at a “racial” joke but a regular normal “monkey” joke?
